LONDON 16 November 2022 – Tour Partner Group (“the Group”) a leading B2B tour operator and destination management company, is excited to announce the appointment of a new Chief Financial Officer, Alex Graves, the creation of a new Group People Director role with the appointment of Roxy Shakerifar, and the appointment of a new Non-Executive Chairman, Peter Liney. The Group is now seeing a rapid recovery from the pandemic, and this industry-leading talent will support the Group’s next stage of growth as it continues to deepen its multi-category service offering and expand its acquisition strategy.

Leadership Appointments

The Group is delighted to announce the appointment of Alex Graves as Chief Financial Officer, who will be leading the Group’s finance, governance and reporting functions. Alex comes to Tour Partner Group after five successful years at Big Bus Tours, the largest global operator of open-top bus sightseeing tours, where he was most recently Group Financial Controller, spearheading the implementation of new financial systems and control functions. Prior to that, Alex spent nine years at Deloitte where he was a Senior Manager in the Audit practice and where he became ACA qualified.

Roxy Shakerifar also joins in a newly created executive role as Group People Director, where she will lead the recruitment, retention and people development strategy across the Group worldwide. Roxy joins from Sweaty Betty, the leading female fitness and lifestyle brand, where she was Head of People for two years, prior to which she was with Scott Dunn, the luxury, tailor-made travel business for seven years in various people roles, culminating in her final position as Group Head of People and Development.

Peter Liney too is joining Tour Partner Group as Non-Executive Chairman, bringing over three decades of senior leadership experience within the travel sector. Peter will be responsible for working with Paul Maine, CEO and his Executive Team, steering the Group’s strategy through this exciting period, as the rebound from the pandemic is creating attractive growth opportunities across the US and Northern Europe. Previously, Peter was CEO of Great Rail Journeys (the leading UK company specialising in escorted rail holidays) for nine years in which he led the company’s expansion into the US and Australia. Prior to that, Peter was CEO of STA Travel for five years, and began his career at British Airways where he spent 11 years in a range of strategic and sales-related roles. Peter also currently serves as a non-executive director at APT Travel Group, one of Australia’s largest tour operators.

Trading Performance Update and Operational Highlights

Alex, Roxy and Peter join Tour Partner Group at an inflection period of fast growth, as the pandemic has created a large backlog in demand for global travel and an increasing focus by consumers on experiences. Over the course of 2022, growth across each of the Group’s business lines has accelerated, resulting in year-to-date revenues of c. €70m and expected year-on-year growth in 2022 in excess of 450%. This performance is due to the Group’s strong market presence across a range of geographies and categories, providing an unparalleled ability to serve customers with complex, multi-geography needs.

This year Tour Partner Group has also continued to invest in its platform, supported by Mayfair’s Active Partnership approach, ensuring that it has emerged from the pandemic stronger and very well placed to address the opportunities ahead. In April 2022, the Group expanded its Meetings and Incentives division (“MICE”) to the Nordics, building on its existing MICE offerings across Ireland, Scotland, and England. Tour Partner Group also continues to progress its sustainability agenda, one of the Group’s core pillars and in 2022, partnered with Ecologi to fully offset its internal carbon emissions.

Paul Maine, CEO of Tour Partner Group commented, “All of us here at Tour Partner Group are delighted to welcome Alex, Roxy and Peter to the team. As the Group continues its upward momentum, I am thrilled to be working alongside each of them, along with my other Executive Team members, to deliver continued growth and expansion.

I’d also like to sincerely thank our outgoing Chairman, Mark Mayhew, and CFO, Mark Pharoah, for their contributions to the Group over the years. They have both been instrumental in transforming Tour Partner Group into the global, multi-destination platform that we are today, and most recently their support and dedication during the pandemic has enabled us to come out stronger and help deliver this year’s results.

Our performance to date in 2022 is indicative that our strategy of having a diversified destination mix, product offering, and customer base has allowed us to remain resilient during the pandemic and lay the foundation for our success this year. Although the last three years have been incredibly challenging and continue to be operationally complex, the continued recovery of international travel is highly encouraging, and we look forward to building our partnerships and welcoming increasing numbers of travellers to all our destinations in the coming year. I would like to thank the entire team at Tour Partner Group for their hard work and dedication.”
