As we come to the end of the year I want to take this opportunity to reflect on the 2022 season. This year was the first in which international travel resumed without restrictions in two years. It has been great to see the pent up demand for travel as customers have once again been eager to explore our destinations unencumbered. The year has not been without challenges however and I would like to thank you, our partners, for your patience and commitment while we have dealt with these.

It is against this challenging backdrop that we have aimed to go above and beyond to support you and your clients, and to continue to create special once in a lifetime experiences within our destinations.

• In the spring, we lost many of our UK and Ireland hotel allocations in order to provide needed accommodation for Ukrainian refugees. Wherever possible the team found comparable or better alternative placements for all groups at no extra charge for customers.
• Despite multiple flight cancellations and delays, alongside challenges with the availability of tour guides, attractions and coaches, we were able to call on our excellent network to find replacements so that all trips could go-ahead as planned.
• As the trend towards last minute bookings took hold we found solutions with our clients to make bookings later and our team worked hard to accommodate any last minute adjustments, so trips could be advertised for longer.

These are just a few examples of ways in which our team has worked tirelessly to ensure the best outcome for you and your customers. This is the work ethic we will be taking with us into next season. During the winter we have taken steps to ensure that things will be much smoother next year by bolstering our team with the addition of numerous new team members and weekly training sessions to maximise skills.

I am pleased to say that Tour Partner Group has continued to be incredibly resilient and our group-wide revenues have recovered well. Our MICE team in particular have had an extremely strong year, with events and delegate numbers at an all-time high.

By planning well for the future we can be excited again for what lies ahead and look forward to welcoming more of your customers back to our destinations.
